# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You can prep it the night before and bake it fresh in the morning without any extra effort.
  • It uses pantry staples and whatever berries you have on hand, frozen or fresh.
  • The texture is somewhere between oatmeal and cake, warm and satisfying without being heavy.
  • Leftovers taste just as good cold straight from the fridge, which makes it perfect for grab and go mornings.
02 -
  • If you use frozen berries, do not thaw them first or they will release too much water and make the bake soggy.
  • The center should jiggle slightly when you take it out; it will firm up as it cools.
  • Do not skip rinsing the quinoa unless you enjoy the taste of bitterness ruining an otherwise lovely breakfast.
03 -
  • Toast the nuts lightly before adding them; it brings out their flavor and makes them taste richer.
  • If the top is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • A drizzle of extra maple syrup or a spoonful of Greek yogurt on top turns this into something that feels almost fancy.
